Education

There are two terms in a school year. The autumn term starts in August and ends in December. The spring term stars in January and ends at the end of May / beginning of June.

Basic education in foreign languages

Basic education in foreign languages is organized in co-operation with the city of Tampere.

Preschool education

The municipality of Pirkkala offers preschool education to all six-year-old children. Preschool lasts one year and it is free of charge. Preschool is voluntary in Finland. In Pirkkala preschool education is organized in lower comprehensive schools (=primary/elementary school), not in kindergartens as in most other towns in Finland.
